Product Q&A

Hello, can the fuel pump burn out?  My father who's in his 80's left the keys in the ignition with the motor running, and went into his home.  He returned to the Saturn Vue later to see if he left the keys in the car, and found them in the ignition, and the car motor was not running, and it would not start after putting gas into the tank.  Also, the dealer says that there are (2) fuel pumps; a primary, and an auxiliary.  How do I know which one(s) to order?HOLLY A.Jul 13, 2021
Best Answer:Hello! It's definitely possible for a fuel pump to fail after running dry. I would manually apply 12v or jump the fuel pump relays to test which fuel pump will not turn on.
