Do I need sanding before primer and paint? Or is this ready for painting without sanding?Hideki S.Feb 28, 2021
Best Answer:Hi Bill,
This is with smooth finish already, the paint shop would just have to primer paint this and spray paint the exact color needed, then the last spray would be a clear coat layer, then polish it to it's final shiny appearance. Please consult with your local Auto Body and paint shop for the procedure.

The mirror was an exact fit for our 2009 Nissan Versa. It was easy to attach - got the whole job done in about 30 minutes. Mirror worked fine and looks good. The were no replacement instructions with the mirror but there are plenty of DYI videos on YouTube to help you along. Can not comment on the paintability of the mirror since I left it unpainted - looked good enough as original black. There were no mounting screws so use the originals from the old mirror.

Solid discount option for a DIYer
It's what was promised and a lot cheaper than the official Nissan part I needed. Of course, not being an official part, I needed to splice wires, which is the primary reason for the 4/5 stars rather than 5/5.
I also had to do a bit of trial and error with the wires to make sure that the controls were correct. With only 3 wires, it wasn't too hard though. Would recommend for anyone who has rudimentary electrical experience. Do not buy if lacking in that experience.
