Best Answer:Hi Johnathan, I'm glad to assist you. Yes, it is pre-filled with a minimum amount of oil (3 ounces). But, manufacturers recommend that you drain the "shipping oil" and refill with "proper oil" ahead of installation (8 ounces). The other purpose of the added oil is to protect the compressor during its stay on the dealer's shelves (prevent rust while stocked for some period), retailers' stores, and in the course of transport. Great replacement
Not too bad of a part. The engine bay made install a breeze. Came filled with compressor oil. Would def order again if I needed it. 3 yrs....it's still running great. Install needs more peg oil... a vacuum pump, guages and freon. Good Idea to get new Schrader valves too. Not for the novice DIYers
