Will I need the key programmed? 2003PhillopJun 12, 2024
Best Answer:Hi Phillip, thank you for reaching out! No, this kit does not require programming because the keys do not have a chip inside. This will not work if you have a key with a chip or transponder. Click the link below to order the part while stocks last. Do not forget to check the part's fitment to your vehicle before checking out. Have a great day! https://www.carparts.com/ignition-lock-cylinder/standard/sius322lt?can=cpab2020_csqa_202406012

I have a 2002 Ford lariat XLT 4wd I lost my ignition key and still have the door key, the door key fits in the ignition and turns it on but it won't start do I need a key with a chip in it just for the ignition switch ?Eugene B.May 02, 2023
Best Answer:Hi Eugene, thank you for reaching out. If your original key has a transponder chip, then you need to get a replacement key with the chip. We suggest you reach out to your local automotive locksmith. They may be able to help. Have a nice day.
