I just installed this part over the weekend.  I'm hearing a rattle when I come to a stop, and all connection are tight.  I did notice that the exhaust manifold bolts might be reaching the actual exhaust manifold on the interior side.  Is it possible the fitting on the replacement part is thinner than that of the original causing a gap, thus vibration when the ML320 downshifts at stops?  Please help me solve this issue.  Thank you.kelly f.May 04, 2021

The 1999 Mercedes Benz ML320 has catalytic converters on both sides. Yes, it is possible to have two catalytic converters on each side. Poor fit, weak flanges, leaked after 2000 miles. Had to rebuild
AFTER 2000 MILES, all seams leak. The gaskets were poor. The flange metal is weak, and bends. I have corrected the problem using metal gaskets, Exhaust RTV sealant and walker muffler flange repair kit. I would not buy again.

Excellent Replacement
This part is an excellent replacement for original exhaust system. It comes in 3 sections so it's easier to install by yourself. The flange connecting the pipe to the exhaust manifold is thinner than original so it was necessary to shorten the bolts. It wasn't all stainless steel though like original, but looks like it will endure.
