2009 Mercury Mariner 4 Cyl Basic Model Thank you for the response. How difficult is the programming, I would prefer not to need to take it to Mercury, should my mechanic, who diagnosed the problem be able to do the programming?  I'm not so sure I could get Ford/Mercury to do the programming, dealerships are not real big on acknowledging parts they don't provide. According to my search and the part number on my existing ECU (9L8A-12B684-BC) this is the unit I require; actually my unit lists two part numbers, the second one being 9L8A-12A650-BF, and the picture of the module isn't exactly what I have. The only difference I can see is the order in which the cannon plugs are attached.  On my unit, the smallest of the 3 cannon plugs is on the outer right side. And the wiring harness isn't quite long enough, plus I'm concerned, if I can get enough slack, maybe there's something different about the two larger cannon plugs, unless of course they are 'keyed'. I tried to attach a picture, but it wouldn't paste. Also, does this unit require programming? Or is it a plug and play. Thank you for your help, RickRichard A.Jul 30, 2022
