Product Q&A

I have a 2008 Mazda 6 I 2.3 liter and I am changing out the fuel pump but I have a problem putting it back into my car. Really it's just the rubber gasket that goes on top of the pump it self. I can't get the ring on top of the unit to tighten down with the gasket on top. Can I leave the gasket off? Will it leak gasoline out if I do? The stock fuel pump I took out does not have a rubber gasket on top like the new one,so idk if I can run it like this. Any help would be appreciatedPuma CatFeb 21, 2024
Best Answer:Hi Josh, thank you for reaching out. Although we don't have the installation guide for this product, it's necessary to install the gasket to prevent any fuel leak and trouble codes. We suggest reaching out to your local mechanic or dealership parts department for recommendations. You can also refer to a vehicle-specific repair manual for the installation guide. Thank you for inquiring. Have a nice day.
