Easy do it yourself fix 2007 mkx. Saved me $800
I am not a gear head by any means. Got a quote to replace drive shaft in my 2007 mkx of $1,200. Quote was 800 for part and 4 hrs labor. I watched a couple videos online and said heck I’m gonna give it a shot it seems like 12 bolts that’s it! I bought the part it was like 420 after tax, bought some hack stands $40 and borrowed the impact gun and sockets from a buddy. Again, I am not mechanically inclined. Part shipped on time I ordered on Wednesday I think and it was at my door Sunday. I decided to go for it the next day Monday. Removing the old shaft was a pain in the butt! It was all rusty but after about 90 minutes the old shaft was off! The new shaft seemed too short but once I started tightening down bolts it sucked perfectly into place! All together including jacking the car up and clean up it took me about 3 hrs! The car drives so smooth now. I didn’t realize the slight vibration that I had been dealing with for a long time must have been the shaft going bad. I would definitely recommend <a href="http://carparts.com" target="_blank">carparts.com</a> and this drive shaft! It is an easy do it yourself fix on a 2007 mkx
