Solid, good fitment, installs well.
The fuel tank protection part meets the expectations: shape and design reflects the original part, material appears solid and heavy. It fits well, arrived undamaged, no scratches or dents. Black paint does not have chips or other imperfections, but difficult to judge about longevity. Installation has to be well planned because it also holds the tank in place. The original part on my Jeep Wrangler rusted out after 12 years east coast. Order, transaction, and delivery went smoothly.

Two Thumbs Up Replacement on the Dorman Jeep Wrangler JKU Fuel Tank Skid Plate
I checked between an OEM Jeep Wrangler JKU Fuel Tank Skid Plate and the Dorman Replacement. There is a considerable price difference between OEM which when I checked was on Backorder and the Dorman equivalent. And there is a huge difference in the Dorman product between vendors and auto parts stores. <a href="http://Carparts.com" target="_blank">Carparts.com</a> had the best price without shipping and when shipping was added it was still way below all the other sellers. I was impressed with the product's quality and checked the spot welds as there was some concern by other purchasers. No issues here. All looked good. Here are a couple of tips. Make sure the fuel tank is as low as possible on fuel, at 6 lbs per gallon it can get heavy. Use Pb Blaster on the bolts the night before for easy removal. The skid plate comes with new bolts. You should have two people to do this job. Strap the fuel tank to the frame Before removing the skid plate. Jack the jeep up and place a jack stand under the right axle housing. If you have a floor jack us it to support the skid plate in the center and lift the skid plate as you go. That is pretty much it. I included pictures of the straps, the old skid plate, and the new one. These comments are my opinion and how we installed this product. You need to evaluate and plan your installation according to your knowledge and ability. Thank you Bill Sparks
