2002 Grand Cherokee Overland, 4.7 V8, high output engine.+a Its had a vibration since I purchased 6 years ago. Had the front shaft balanced. While off the vehicle, no vibration. Put it back on (balanced now) vibration is back. Same for the rear. Had it balanced, while off the vehicle no vibration.  After balance,  vibration is back.  Jeep dealer suggested replacing front and rear with new. Is there something else I'm missing before I order? Best Answer:Hello! I would suspect something is internally wrong with your front differential. If the driveshaft is balanced, and the u-joints and in good condition, then it should function the same as a new driveshaft.
