What is the difference between an upstream and a downstream oxygen sensor? It's a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L. There are different part #'s for them.Judy H.Mar 16, 2024
Best Answer:Hi Judy, I'm glad to assist you. Yes. Both are different from each other. The upstream oxygen sensor primarily monitors the air-fuel mixture for engine control purposes, while the downstream oxygen sensor monitors the efficiency of the catalytic converter. What do you need upstream or downstream? Do you need all?
