Reman Series Steering Rack
poor quality remanufactured steering rack
I bought this remanufactured steering rack as I was told I had a faulty steering rack. when I received the rack it looked worse than the unit that I was to remove and replace. The remanufactured unit had been painted at least 3 times with multiple layers of chipped paint. The boots over the inner tie rod ends were much longer than the OEM boots with more ribs. Extending and retracting the rack showed that the boots would make contact with the clamps on the tire rod end due to the extra length. This would surely result in a tore boot. Luckily a google search indicated that my problem was orings on the pump and not the steering rack. I returned the rack for a refund and replaced the tie rods and boots on the original steering rack.
