Would this stop oil pump supply if gone bad?Mark G.Apr 30, 2023
Best Answer:Hi Mark, I'm glad to assist you. If the oil level sensor is defective, it does not stop the oil pump from working. The oil pump is controlled directly by the ECM. The oil level sensor measures the oil level in the engine and sends that info to the engine's computer (ECM), which then alerts the driver if the oil level is low. For more details please check the following links from our website's knowledge database (<a href="https://www.carparts.com/blog/oil-level-sensor-problems-symptoms-and-fixes/" target="_blank">https://www.carparts.com/blog/oil-level-sensor-problems-symptoms-and-fixes/</a>) and (<a href="https://www.carparts.com/blog/p06dd-code-engine-oil-pressure-control-stuck-off/" target="_blank">https://www.carparts.com/blog/p06dd-code-engine-oil-pressure-control-stuck-off/</a>). I hope this helps.
