Does this part determine what gear the transmission is in on the steering column?George C.Nov 11, 2021
Best Answer:Hi George, I'm pleased to assist you. No. A transmission solenoid is an electro-hydraulic valve that controls fluid flow into and throughout an automatic transmission. They operate via a voltage or current supplied by the transmission computer or controller. I think you may be needing a steering gearbox, but we recommend having the vehicle checked by a certified mechanic for real-time diagnosis to determine what part/s need replacement/s. We look forward to hearing from you. Have a nice day.

Hello.  I need to see if this replaces the part transmission pressure control solenoid for this model.  the code are po797 and po700?brendonMar 25, 2023
Best Answer:Hi Brendon, Glad to assist you. The 1st code (P0797) points to a transmission control solenoid C. It is often found in vehicles with automatic transmissions and can be triggered by a variety of issues, such as a faulty transmission control module (TCM), damaged wiring, or a malfunctioning transmission shift solenoid. In the 2nd code, a P0700 code, the mechanic will use a scan tool to retrieve any additional codes stored in the vehicle's system, as well as to monitor the vehicle's transmission control module (TCM) data stream for any abnormalities. A series of diagnostic tests may be done by the mechanic to determine the root cause of the issue. It may include testing the transmission shift solenoid, inspecting the wiring harness, or checking the TCM for proper operation.
