Motorcraft Oe Replacement Ignition Coil, Sold Individually
ignition coil - what should the resistence be?
Replaced ignition coil on 1991 Ford e-250 as it lost engine power going up hills - somewhere I read that the ignition coil should be replaced every ? miles or 2 yrs. It is very easy to replace- anyone can do that. Ohms resistence on the new one was vastly different from the old one. Could not find specs on what the resistence should be. Was recommedned we use a dynameter (very expensive!!) test to test coil under load, Buying a coil seemed cheaper. We'll see under a real road test - (we live in S OR should be no problem going up I-5!!!.
