Does this Motorcraft AC compressor come pre-charged with compressor oil or does oil need to be added before installation?BrianAug 01, 2024
Best Answer:Hi Brian, I'm glad to assist you. Yes. It is pre-filled with oil. But manufacturers recommend that you drain the "shipping oil" and refill with "proper PAG oil" (amount) upon installation. The other purpose of the added oil is to protect the compressor during its stay on the dealer's shelves, retailers' stores, and in the course of transport. Once installed on your vehicle, that is when a mechanic will start the a/c charging process (vacuuming and freon loading process). Get it done by a certified mechanic or your trusted local auto repair shop. It is guaranteed to fit the 2011 to 2013 Ford Fiesta, all submodels, and engines. Best Answer:Hi Cameron, I'm glad to assist you. The image shows the exact part you will be receiving (the AC compressor shows a mounting base where the AC pipes would be installed colored blue and black). You are probably referring to the part that comes with the AC hoses (or the ones shown in the images with a nut). We do not carry the header part separately (if that is the black and blue part on the AC compressor pipe fittings).
