Product Q&A

is this the same as cylinder head temp.sensor ?stuuuJan 31, 2021
Best Answer:Hi Stuuu, The two sensors are with different purpose and are independent of each other. An engine coolant temperature sensor or (ECT) measures the temperature of the liquid coolant. While Cylinder Head Temperature sensor/gauge (CHT) measures the cylinder head temperature of an engine, when the cylinder head temperature sensor has an issue, it can negatively affect the performance of the vehicle. Usually a bad or failing cylinder head temperature sensor will produce a few symptoms that can alert the driver of a potential problem that should be serviced. 1. Long cranking time 2. Engine performance issues 3. Check Engine Light comes on Still, it is best to refer to a trusted vehicle specific repair manual or consult with your local auto repair shop or Dealership.
