Reverse works good but drive takes time to shift ?Ron V.Feb 27, 2021
Best Answer:Hi Ron, Here are some symptoms of a bad transmission range sensor: 1. The car doesn't start and will not move. 2. Transmission shifts into an unexpected gear. 3. The vehicle will go into limp mode. Delayed shifting is often caused by valves sticking the valve body, which prevents shifts from happening when they should. On newer cars, which control shifts using a computer, the problem could lie in the shift solenoids that are used to trigger shifts. If this is the case, these components of the transmission will likely need to be serviced or replaced. The transmission oil pressure switch/sensor is unique in that its sole purpose is to collect data about the pressure found inside the transmission case, which impacts the timing and operation of shifting a vehicle to a higher or lower gear if needed.
