Had the pump installed professionally. The pump is making a whiny noise, almost sounds like a supercharger (not the same noise as bad pump when turning) we got all the air out of the lines.. it has a constant whine, even when not turning, and increases slightly as RPM climbes. Best Answer:Hi Ben,
Since the air was already taken out from the lines, the whine is usually created by a problem with the power steering fluid that the pump is trying to move. Since your pump is drawing fluid into the rotor and vanes from the return reservoir at a vacuum, air can also be pulled in if there are any loose hose connections.

Part is defective -
Installed by professional dodge mechanic. The pump first lost all the fluid. The line doesn't hold as well on this.. in addition to that, the pump whines as you accelerate.
I will end up paying more, to have the mechanic take it off, and reinstall a new one. I should have just spent the extra $60 bucks for am OEM part, then it if there was an issues the labor and parts would be free.
With that said, Carparts is great - just bad luck.
