Since the UV oxidized headlight housing
Un yellowed headlight housing are always good for seeing at night. I’ve polished numerous yellowed headlight housings by hand with wet sanding from 1000g up to 1500g paper then buffing with compound until clear like new. But it doesn’t last even clear coated because of the suns UV rays. And forget about any miracle “lens cleaner”. There’s no such thing. The original clearcoat goes yellow then white and has to come off. So it’s either that, or, you save the time it takes and just replace them. It’s cheaper, you can choose the quality of housing, they will look like new longer and you will see better when you drive at night. I forgot to mention that when you sand and polish clear plastic, it’s highly likely you will distort and destroy the focal point of your headlight housing lense. Then you still can’t see because the light beam is refracted and scattered in a wide pattern all over your field of view which is like having no lights anyway. Replace with new ones and forget it.
