dorman power door actuator lasted only 5 months
Seemed ok, worked only 5 months. piece of garbage plus had to pay $100 to get the door open as the actuator locked up mechanically and nothing could be done to open the door.

Tailgate Actuator
"Bracketology"
I was surprised that the unit came w/ the bracket and several rivets. So, first thing I did was to install the bracket to the unit; no big deal but you have to remove the 4 bolts that hold it together. Tried to rivet it on but the mounting holes in the bracket supplied are too big - the rivets go right through. However, the holes appear to accept screws, which, of course, are NOT supplied. So I had to removed both brackets and put the old one on the new actuator, and then rivet it on. It needs to have screws.
