Distributor Kit With Spark Plug Wire, 8Cyl., 5.0/5.7L Engines
'99 Tahoe (or other GM V8 this part fits) need a new distributor? Look no further! This is the one you want!
Far more robust than the stock distributor. I particularly like the brass grommets on the screw holes in the cap. It was nice being able to make sure it was tight without worrying I might crack the cap.
Wires are good quality and fit better than what I pulled off. No wrestling to get them on.
The captured retaining clip made installing the distributor a piece of cake...especially since the stock one fell down on top of transmission and is mia.
I put over 500 miles on it the first week, and it has smoothed out, improved throttle response, instantly fires up, and, oddly enough, has gotten quieter! Didn't expect the noise reduction.
Tip: if you've never replaced a distributor before, mark the rotor's position on something that isn't being removed. As you slowly pull it up, take note to where the rotor is pointing when it comes off the gear. That way you better your chances of it rotating back into the correct position as it slides back onto the gear when the new distributor is fully seated.
