Work better than the originals on my hatchback. They have slow and fast travel sections making it much easier to open and close. They face the opposite direction from the factory ones, which made me think they were not the right part, but they installed easily.

Works better than the original.
My 2005 Malibu Maxx's hatch kept falling down on my head and a few others. These work better than the original. I thought they wouldn't fit as I was trying to them on they way the GM ones were put on (black piston on the same end) and one opening is bigger than the other. However, they go on the opposite direction. Perhaps that is why the original ones didn't work very well. I wish I bought these earlier but I thought they would be harder to replace. It took about 5 minutes to replace both.
