Best Answer:Hi David, This is an excerpt from one of our technical data sheet; A turbocharger consists of a compressor wheel and exhaust gas turbine wheel coupled together by a solid shaft and that is used to boost the intake air pressure of an internal combustion engine. The exhaust gas turbine extracts energy from the exhaust gas and uses it to drive the compressor and overcome friction. This results to more horsepower improvement and speed gains generally. Still, we recommend referring to a trusted vehicle specific repair manual for details about troubleshooting, diagnostic and repair. Still, it is best to consult your trusted local auto repair shop or dealership for this as well if you need to.
