I have a 2004 325i M54 engine with an automatic transmission. I ordered this radiator and it came with 2 drain plugs, a long one and a short one, the short one is already pre installed into the new radiator. Which drain plug am I supposed to use?DawnXNov 05, 2023
Best Answer:Hi Kyndra, I'm glad to assist you. The radiator of the 2004 BMW 325i typically has two drain plugs for coolant drainage. The long drain plug is used for completely draining the coolant from the radiator. The short drain plug is for removing the majority of the coolant during regular maintenance procedures. Once a new radiator is installed, it is recommended to use the long drain plug for the initial coolant drainage to ensure complete removal of the old coolant. Then, the short drain plug can be used for routine maintenance tasks, such as coolant changes or system flushes.
