I'm a former Porsche-Audi-VW tech and only had nothing but VW and Audi cars. I only buy parts from dealer, but when hood shock on my 2003 Audi A4 collapsed and I priced one at Dealer fro $60 I had a second thought here since this is not a part that affects a performance of a car, it is basically a "fancy broomstick" to keep the hood open. So when I got it quickly by mail I could not tell difference if I would have bought this from a dealer. It installed just like deler item and works fine. Visually these two look basically identical. So you could still have 100% factory look.
