Chevrolet K2500 Suburban
- Existing for 77 years and still counting, the Chevrolet Suburban holds the record for the longest continuous use of an automobile nameplate. Since the very first Chevrolet Suburban was produced in 1934 for the 1935 model year, it has continued to be in production without fail. It even continued to exist during World War II because of its importance as a military vehicle.
- Throughout its long history, the Suburban or 'Burb has been produced under several marques including Chevrolet, Holden in Australia, and GMC. The GMC version of the Suburban was renamed as the GMC Yukon XL later on.
- The C/K naming system was introduced for the sixth generation Suburbans when the first factory-equipped four-wheel drive models were rolled out. The two-wheel drive version was known as the 'C' model while the brand new four-wheel drive version which includes the K2500 Suburban was labeled as the 'K' model.
- The original Chevrolet Suburbans were designed as an answer to the need of a truck-based station wagon that can perform heavy-duty needs that car-based station wagons can't do. To provide the strong structural support required by heavy-duty performance, Chevrolet introduced the steel-bodied Suburban Carryall in 1935.
- To celebrate its 75th year of existence and its title as the first vehicle nameplate to reach 75 years of continuous production, Chevrolet designed a special edition of the Chevrolet Suburban. The special 75th anniversary edition of the Suburban that was released in 2010 featured the luxurious LTZ trim, a white diamond tricoat paint job, and cashmere interior.
- The longest generation of the Chevrolet Suburban was its eighth generation which spanned 19 model years. This was the first generation that offered the Suburban as a four-door vehicle for all the Suburban versions: the C1500, C2500, K1500, and K2500.
- With its proven record of performance and stability, it comes as no surprise that the Chevrolet Suburban was the vehicle of choice for several emergency and security services. The Suburban has served as a fire chief's vehicle, a police car, and an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) fly car. Black Suburbans are also utilized by the United States Secret Service, while the President of the United States uses a fully-armored Suburban for less formal occasions.
