P0042 Code: HO2S Heater Control Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 3Bank 1 is the side of the engine where the #1 cylinder is located. P0042 code is set when your car’s PCM determines a potential problem with the heater element circuit of the oxygen sensor.
Can You Drive Without a Catalytic Converter?Technically, yes. Older cars ran just fine before catalytic converters became commonplace in the 1970s. P0316 Code: Engine Misfire Detected on Startup (First 1000 Revolutions)The PCM may disable the misfiring cylinder or cylinders in order to prevent further damage to the engine. Code P0316 is often listed in addition to one or more of the P0300 series codes that are associated with the misfiring cylinder/s.
P0134: O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1, Sensor 1)The Bank 1 portion of the code refers to the side of the engine with the number one cylinder. Sensor 1 refers to the upstream O2 sensor.
