Q:2018 dodge grand caravan catalytic converter car purchased in California but registered in New Hampshire.  It says here it won't work however Magnaflows site says it is based on where car is registered not where original first owner purchased car. What is right? Show Less

A:BEST ANSWERHi Robert, I'm pleased to assist you. It is correct that the state where the car is currently registered determines the specific requirements, not the state where it was originally purchased. However, California is a CARB-compliant state, and the cats could be CARB. Check the Vehicle Emission Control Information sticker, usually found underneath the hood, to see if it matches the emission control specifications. Federal emissions (46-state) stickers will simply say, "This vehicle conforms to U.S. EPA regulations," whereas California-emissions (50-state, CARB) vehicles will say, "This vehicle conforms to U.S. EPA and the State of California regulations."
