The bug shield makes use of physics to protect the vehicle’s front-end from those big bugs that may damage the hood and the windshield. This add-on is designed to change the vehicle's aerodynamic in such a way that the wind blows over the top of the cabin rather than straight into the windshield. But if you simply want a shield that complements the ruggedness of your Jeep while lasting long in service, acrylic bug shield is the way to go.
You can restore the shine of your bug deflector by applying a polish that’s designed for the type of material the deflector is made of. For high-impact acrylic plastic, you can use a plastic polish that’s made from fine polishing compound. This type of polish brings out the shine in the plastic material without causing scratches on the deflector’s surface. Word of advice: allow the polish to dry for at least 30 minutes before buffing it.
