Product Questions & Answers

Q:I get conflicting information.  I am in the process of replacing the BCM on my 2003 Chevy Malibu and am trying to determine the "Flashing" process.  Some say it will need to be a dealer process and others advise that this is not the case provided the car is started with the original factory issued key after installation.  I have the original key.  Any light you can shed on the matter would be greatly appreciated? Show Less

A:BEST ANSWERHi John, I'm glad to help you out. The BCM unit requires vehicle specific on-car flash programming after installation to prevent drivability issues. You can also consult your local dealership parts department for more details. I hope this helps. Happy shopping. Show less
