  • If your 2004 Kia Amanti is misfiring after you replaced the spark plugs, there’s a chance that the spark plug wires weren’t installed properly.
  • Double-check your 2004 Kia Amanti’s spark plug wires and make sure they’re all routed correctly and fully seated.
  • If the spark plugs aren’t routed according to the vehicle’s firing order, your 2004 Kia Amanti’s engine will misfire.

Q: I have a 2004 Kia Amanti with a 3.5L engine. I replaced the spark plugs, spark plug wires, intake manifold gasket, and ignition coils. Now, the car gives me misfire codes P0300 and codes P0301 through P0306. I checked for vacuum leaks and didn’t find anything. There were no codes before I did all of that work.

A: Hi, Jesus. It sounds like something did not get installed properly while you were working on the car. My guess is that the issue is with the way the spark plug wires are installed. Start by double-checking all of your work, ensuring that the spark plug wires are routed correctly (going to the correct coil and cylinder), and fully seated. If the spark plug wires are not routed according to the vehicle’s firing order, the engine will misfire.

Good luck!
