  • Torx T30 bit

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Initial Preparations

  • Turn off the engine and engage the parking brake then open the hood using the hood release handle.

Step 2: Removing Components

  • To change the front bumper cover, start by removing both headlights.
  • Remove the wheel arch trims using these steps:
    • Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the five screws securing the wheel arch trims.
    • Remove the trims.

Step 3: Detaching Bumper Cover from Fender

  • Remove the three screws attaching the bumper cover to the fender by following these steps:
    • Spray the screws with penetrating oil for easier removal.
    • Unscrew the screws using a ratchet and a 10mm socket.
    • Access the two rear screws through the wheel arches on both sides.

Step 4: Unscrewing Plastic Brackets and Inner Retaining Screws

  • Use a ratchet, an extender, and a 10mm socket to unscrew the two screws holding the plastic brackets.
  • Use a ratchet, an extender, and an 8mm socket to unscrew the bumper cover’s two inner retaining screws.

Step 5: Unscrewing Bumper Cover from Fender’s Metal Supports

  • Spray penetrating oil on the screws holding the bumper cover on the fender’s metal supports.
  • Unscrew the two screws holding the bumper cover through the wheel arches using a ratchet and a TORX T30 bit.

Step 6: Disengaging Bumper Cover and Removing

  • Disengage the bumper cover from the fender by pulling it down and out. Then, remove the hood lock cable from its housing.

Step 7: Releasing Plastic Tabs and Removing Bumper Cover

  • Press on the plastic tabs on both sides of the bumper cover to release the plastic brackets. Pull on the bumper cover to dislodge it.

Step 8: Removing Old Bumper Cover and Placing the New One

  • Remove the old bumper cover then place the new bumper cover in position.

Step 9: Reattaching Bumper Cover

  • Reinsert the tabs into their slots to secure the parts together. Properly position the bumper cover’s retaining tab side by side. Reinsert the bumper cover onto the fender.

Step 10: Reattaching Screws and Components

  • Screw back in the two screws holding the bumper cover to the fender’s metal supports through the wheel arches. Screw back in the bumper cover’s inner retaining screws then replace the hood lock cable.

Step 11: Reattaching Plastic Brackets and Inner Retaining Screws

  • Screw back in the two screws holding the plastic brackets. Screw back in the three screws on each side holding the bumper cover to the fender.

Step 12: Reattaching Wheel Arch Trims

  • Replace the wheel arch trims then screw back in the screws securing the trims.

Step 13: Replacing Headlights

  • Replace both headlights.
