It has been four years since the second (and current) generation of the Nissan Armada was launched, which means the model is due for a refresh. For the 2021 model year, that is exactly what the model is getting.
Ahead of its launch, Nissan released a teaser of the Armada in motion. In it, the vehicle is seen running down a dirt road before the camera pans to a quick cut of its rear end. In both angles, the body of the SUV is not fully seen, likely because the manufacturer prefers to keep the suspense until its grand unveiling.
Based on the available visuals, the refreshed Armada may be packed with outdoorsy features such as all-terrain tires and skid plates. While this is still unconfirmed, what’s certain is that the model will have a boxy figure and what appears to be a set of differently shaped taillights.
If the 2020 Nissan Patrol, the international version of the Armada, is any indicator, the updated SUV might also get a new grille, chrome accents, a larger lower air intake, polished headlights, and side air vents.
In terms of powertrain, the 2021 Armada will likely retain its V-8 engine and seven-speed automatic transmission setup that delivers 390 horsepower. More details are expected to be released when the updated model makes its debut.
