Product Questions & Answers

Q:How do you know which one you need to replace? My check engine light came on today. Only thing it is doing is like Idle up and down at 45mph any speed faster or slower it is fine. No hard shifting or any of that.  Code was PO894 2003 chevy astro van utility. Transmission was just changed 6 months ago. 1GCDM19X13B128431 Show Less

A:BEST ANSWERHi Paul, I'm glad to assist you. The trouble code P0894 could mean that the PCM has perceived the torque converter to be slipping. The PCM monitors the difference between engine speed and transmission output speed. Please click the following link for more details (https://www.carparts.com/blog/p0894-code-transmission-component-slipping/). It could mean a failing torque converter or a low transmission fluid issue. Still, it is best to have your car check by a professional mechanic to isolate other issues and resolve the problem with accountability and warranty. Get back to us if your mechanic gives a final say on the part you need to order. Show less
