Product Questions & Answers

Q:I had a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 4WD. The code reader is giving me P0796. Is the pressure control solenoid valve 3 also called theautomatic transmission solenoid? Show Less
LS A.
A:BEST ANSWERHi LS, thanks for initiating contact. Yes, the pressure control solenoid valve 3 is also commonly referred to as the automatic transmission solenoid. The P0796 code indicates a problem with the pressure control solenoid "C" in the transmission, which is a critical component for proper gear shifting and transmission fluid pressure control. However, I would not recommend just replacing the TCS305 solenoid as a standalone fix for the P0796. A thorough diagnosis by a qualified transmission specialist would be the best approach to properly diagnose and repair the underlying problem causing the P0796 code. They can then recommend the appropriate replacement parts and repairs needed. Have a nice day. Show less
