Product Questions & Answers

Q:Is this the Shift solenoid D?
Murcielago
A:BEST ANSWERHi David, I'm glad to assist you. This is the main transmission control solenoid. This is not the shift solenoid D. We do not carry that shift solenoid D, unfortunately. We have a vehicle-specific service repair manual available, with part number, 36024, by Haynes publication. You can order this instead to help you identify and install the part properly. Grab our sale price offer and click the link below to order this today. I hope this helps. Q:How to install?
A shopper
A:BEST ANSWERHello! Typically you can get to them by just pulling the transmission oil pan, but sometimes you have to pull the valve body. The tricky part is knowing which solenoid is which! That information should be in a good service manual. Show less

What Does a Transmission Solenoid Do?
What Does a Transmission Solenoid Do?In an automatic transmission, the transmission control module (TCM) gets data from your engine and speed sensors. It then analyzes the best time to shift gears using the data.
Is Your Car Stuck In Neutral? Here’s Why
Is Your Car Stuck In Neutral? Here’s WhyThe transmission fluid serves as the medium to control transmission shifting. Solenoids direct the fluid, which travels through the transmission’s passageways. The transmission fluid is essentially the lifeblood of the transmission. So when the vehicle is low on transmission fluid, the gears can slip and get stuck in neutral.
