Customer Guides
Those who frequent off-road environments know how important it is to protect the engine and the intake system against contaminants and other elements. They are well aware of how doubly hard the air filter works when driving on dusty roads just to make sure dust and contaminants are filtered out of the air that will be ingested by the engine. They also know that the air intake becomes vulnerable to water ingestion when crossing a river. So sure enough, they are thinking of outfitting their ride with a snorkel system.
If you’re one of those off-roaders, we want to be of great help to you in making an informed decision. We’ll share with you how the ARB Snorkel—the Safari snorkel system—fared in our off-road beast, so you can gauge if it’s worth a try.

The upside
- At first, we were just thankful that finally, we now have a way to relocate our vehicle’s air intake point to a much higher and safer location. Never did we expect that this ARB snorkel system will give us so much more. For one, it made our engine perform even better by supplying cleaner air than what the engine requires.
- We were impressed by the durability and corrosion resistance of this assembly—from the air ram assembly itself to the mounting hardware. It’s been with our ride for quite some time now, and we can’t even count how many times we’ve gone off the beaten path with this system installed, but so far, none of its components have shown any sign of wear and corrosion.
The downside
- Compared to other snorkels from other brands, this Safari snorkel system from ARB is a bit costly, probably because it already comes complete, including mounting hardware.
The conclusion
We actually have only good words for this component as it provides us with so much more than we need. This isn’t the cheapest snorkel system you’ll find in the market but with all its useful features and the years of service it adds into your engine, it will pretty much pay for itself in the long run.
