Customer Guides
With a center support bearing, the driveshaft is able to flex with less strain. Other driveline components are also relieved from too much stress. If the bearing fails due to wear and tear, you may have to deal with vibrations that could be felt in the cockpit and some gear noise when driving. Before the driveline parts take a hit, the center support bearing must be replaced as needed. With a good number of options in the market, we decided to go with the Anchor center bearing to see if this can live up to the standards.

The positive
- The housing looks and feels solid. It’s, after all, made from heavy-grade steel. With such a sturdy frame, we expect the center support bearing to last long. We’re counting on its reliability for all the cruises and trips we’ll make with our car.
- The bearing is ready to install. We didn’t have a hard time doing the job. It is indeed designed for OE fit, form, and function. For DIYers, this is definitely good news because the last thing you want to deal with would be parts that can’t seem to fit or still have to be modified.
- The rubber cushion of the center support bearing helps dampen vibrations. Because of this, the support bearing is able to absorb heavy loads.
- As we replaced the bearing, the gear noise and vibrations that we used to feel when driving the car eventually faded. We are counting on the new center bearing to relieve pressure on other driveline components so we won’t have to run to the shop or grab our tool box for repair.
- As we drove the vehicle, we could feel the difference in performance. The driveshaft is able to flex well, and this change can be felt through ride quality.
The negative
- The bearing is, at best, a direct-fit OE replacement. It can restore the vehicle’s performance, but we don’t expect it to offer any upgrade.
To sum it up
It was ready to install right out of the box, and for that, we give it a thumbs up. We can recommend this product as an OE replacement, if you want a reliable part to provide support to your driveline components and to fix issues associated with gear noise and vibrations.
