The air intake hose for the 'early 90's Mazda MX6s is a formed part. Refitting requires removal of several other components, including a breather hose connected to the valve cover. Although it appears to be a straight, uniform section, the hose is also formed and has different interior diameters on either end. It is very likely that this hose is hardened and will also need replacement. A standard piece of heater hose will work, but must be secured with a gear clamp on the smaller end due to the poor fit. In my case, the original part was hard as a rock and had to be broken for it to be removed.

The part fit fine , the instulation was a bit of a problem due to the cramped working space.
