We would always expect a vehicle air conditioning system to make the interior of our vehicle "cool". But in reality, the auto air conditioning system does not blow-in cold air. Rather, it absorbs much of the heat present in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. With the absence of heat, or the lack of it, we feel that the air conditioner is providing the passenger cabin with cold air.
The vehicle air conditioning process would generally begin with the evaporator, which is often installed throughout the interior of the vehicle. A cool, liquid refrigerant runs through the entire evaporator length and absorbs the heat inside the passenger compartment. The refrigerant, together with all the heat it has absorbed is then sucked in by the compressor, which would deliver the heated refrigerant to the condenser. In the condenser, the heat will be dissipated to the outside air, thus cooling the refrigerant back to its original temperature. The cooled refrigerant would then be transferred to the receiver-drier/expansion valve pair to be delivered once again to the evaporator. The receiver-drier's function is basically to separate the liquid refrigerant from gasses while the thermal expansion valve's function is to regulate the flow of refrigerant to the evaporator.
Mitsubishi air conditioners are efficient and of premium quality, but that does not make them less prone to damages and malfunctions. Without taking proper care of your vehicle's air conditioning system, it is not a rare instance that you'll find yourself sweltering inside your vehicle at a hot and humid day.
