Does ac compressor come pre filled with enough oil for the whole system or just the compressor? ( I’m going to replace all the components not just the compressor and the whole system needs 7oz).MarcusMar 24, 2023
Best Answer:Hi Mark, I'm glad to assist you. The a/c compressor comes with lubricant oil. It is needed for the lubrication of the compressor's moving mechanical parts. But, manufacturers recommend that you drain the "shipping oil" and refill with "proper oil (PAG oil)" ahead of installation and loading of the refrigerant to the a/c system. The other purpose of the added oil is to protect the compressor during its stay on the dealer's shelves, retailers' stores, and in the course of transport.
