Best Answer:Hi Billy, I'm glad to assist you. Yes. It is pre-oiled from the factory. But manufacturers recommend that you drain the "shipping oil" and refill with "proper PAG oil" (amount) upon installation. The purpose of the added oil is to protect the compressor during its stay on the dealer's shelves, retailers' stores, and in the course of transport. Once installed on your vehicle, that is when the mechanic/repair shop will start to begin the a/c charging process (loading of freon).
