How to tell if shifts Illinois is ba How to?Tell if your shift's still annoying is bad questionbe.GrooveAug 19, 2024
Best Answer:Hi Calvin, thanks for initiating contact. If you are having shifting issues, the usual solution is to replace the automatic transmission solenoid. However, it is not a guarantee to solve the problem. I suggest having the vehicle diagnosed by a scanner to read the trouble code. That is what you need to follow to solve the issue on your ride. I hope this helps. Have a good one.

How can I test ?JimmyFeb 22, 2024
Best Answer:Hi James, I'm glad to assist you. Please run a diagnostic test using a diagnostic scanner to identify the faulty part. If not, you can use a multimeter and set it to ohms and check the resistance across the solenoid terminals. The usual readings are between 5 to 40 ohms. If the solenoid fails the resistance test, connect the electrical connector back on and ground the solenoid case. Then have someone turn the key to activate the solenoid. You should hear a clicking sound if it is engaging. Check for voltage at the solenoid electrical connector with the key on. You should see 12+ volts on one terminal. It may be a complex process which is why it is best to have it checked by a repair shop.

Does this part help the transmission shift out right?Tellas H.Sep 19, 2020
Best Answer:Hi Tellas, By definition, solenoids are electro-hydraulic valves. They control the flow of transmission fluid throughout the transmission, and they open and close as per the electrical signals they receive from your vehicle's engine or transmission control unit, which pulls its data from a series of speed sensors in the engine. But still, it is best to have that consulted thru a professional mechanic on your trusted automotive shop or dealership to be precise on the troubleshooting and diagnosis.
