Product Q&A

Can the switch be rekeyed to fit the current ignition key? Does this switch fit a 1999 Ram 2500?Charles P.Sep 17, 2020
Best Answer:Hi Chuck, The ignition lock cylinder and ignition switch are not the same thing. The lock cylinder is the mechanical tumbler your key slides into. The switch is the electrical portion that sends power to the vehicle. On many cars, these are two separate components that can be repaired individually. The key will not get affected.

This switch looks exactly like mine, but my truck is automatic transmission, description lists manual transmission.  Will this work for me? ThanksDale N.Apr 04, 2022
Best Answer:Hi Dale, I'm glad to assist you. For us to be accurate on the part that you need, please provide the complete information of your vehicle (year, make, model, submodel, and engine size). The 17-character VIN would also be very helpful. I hope this helps. Happy shopping.

Key with it?Sharon C.Jun 25, 2023
Best Answer:Hi Sharon, I'm glad to assist you. No. What you probably need to get is the ignition lock cylinder with keys, not the ignition switch. The part number you need is RB926061. It comes with two keys. Grab our discounted price, plus it comes with a lifetime limited warranty. Click the link below to buy it today. Customer Reviews

Ignition Switch
Exact fit!
Exact replacement part. Installed easily and works flawlessly. Recommend over purchasing OEM part due to pricing. My original Mopar ignition switch lasted 25 years and 311k miles. Time will tell if this one can compare long term.

Ignition Switch
Better than before
Switch was direct fit for my 2001 Dodge Ram diesel. It was a bit of a problem getting the bolts to seat all the way. When I tried to tighten them as the original one was, the key would not turn in the ignition lock cylinder. ( I purchased new cylinder lock at same time) After several tries, I found the sweet spot, though. Truck started right up, and I think the new switch *might have* even solved a stalling problem I had before. Haven't driven it enough yet to know for sure, but the initial test drive I tried several times to stalk it at speeds that never failed to stall before, and the truck just ran fine. Keeping fingers crossed!
