The base EV9’s electric motor produces 214 hp. That’s on the lower end for an SUV.
The EV9 RWD Long Range (LR) has 201 hp, but it has more range.
Meanwhile, the high-performance Kia EV9 AWD can generate 380 hp.
Kia promises an even more powerful model that delivers up to 600 hp.

The Kia EV9 doesn’t drive itself, but it packs driver-assistance systems like Highway Driving Assist (HDA) that might confuse new drivers.
It also offers different wheel setups for aesthetic and performance purposes. However, the larger 20” and 21” wheels can actually reduce the SUV’s range.

Kia has yet to set a price tag for the EV9. Based on the price range of the smaller EV6, the base model EV9 is estimated to cost at least $55,000.
While there’s no set Kia EV9 release date yet, it’s expected to make its US debut during the second half of 2023.
