How to replace the headlight bulbs 2009-2014 Ford F-150

To replace the headlight bulbs on your F-150 It’s easy. To increase the lifespan of the bulbs, we would suggest never touching the glass with your fingers or cleaning them carefully with paper towels before putting them back.

Chapter 2:

Remove the headlight assembly

Step 1/3

Turn off your engine and set the parking brake. Pull on the hood release handle and open the hood. To access the light bulbs, you have to remove the headlight housing.

Using a ratchet and an 10mm socket, unscrew the two upper screws on the headlight. Then, using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the plastic rivet from the rubber cover. Then take off the cover.

You now have access to the third screw holding the headlight block. Unscrew them using a ratchet and a 10mm socket. Then pull it out to the front to disengage the locating pins from their housing in the front fender.

Chapter 3:

Replace the high beam bulb

Step 1/3

To change the H13 high and low beam bulb, remove the electrical connector from the bulb by pulling on the retaining tab, then on the pod.

To remove the light bulb socket from the headlight housing, turn it counterclockwise and pull it out. Take the new bulb.

Put the bulb into the headlight housing and turn it clockwise to lock it in place. Replace the connectors.

Replace the parking light bulb

To remove the parking light bulb socket from the headlight housing, turn it counterclockwise and pull it out. To remove the bulb all you have to do is pull on it.

Take the new bulb. Put the new bulb into the socket, then insert the whole thing into the light, and turn it clockwise to lock it in place.

Replace turn signal bulb

Step 1/3

To replace the turn signal light bulb, start by removing the power cables from the bulb by pushing on the holding tab and pulling on it.

To remove the turn signal light bulb socket from the headlight housing, turn it counterclockwise and pull it out. To remove the bulb all you have to do is pull on it.

Take the new bulb. Put the new bulb into the socket, then insert the whole thing into the light, and turn it clockwise to lock it in place. Replace the connectors.

Put the headlight assembly back in

Step 1/3

The light is held in place by plastic studs encased directly in the car body. Put the light back in.

Screw the three screws holding the headlight back in place. Put the plastic cover back on, then put the rivet back in.
