How to replace the turn signal switch 2009-2014 Ford F-150

To replace the turn signal switch on your F-150 we’re here to help. You’ll need to remove the top steering column cover, remove the turn signal switch, put the turn signal switch back and other steps you’ll need to follow in the correct order. Step-by-Step Installation

Chapter 1:

Set up

Step 1/1

Turn your engine off and set the parking brake.

Chapter 2:

Remove the top steering column cover

Step 1/2

Using a ratchet, an extender and a 5.5mm socket, unscrew the 3 plastic holding screws on the steering column.

Chapter 2:

Step 2/2

Remove the cover from the gear shift lever. Turn the steering wheel to access the first plastic locking pin on the steering column.

Chapter 3:

Remove the lower steering column cover

Step 1/2

Insert a flathead screwdriver into the notch, then pry it. Repeat this step on the other side. Then lower the steering wheel so that the top plastic can be removed.

Then lift the steering wheel back up. Remove the key to make it easier to remove the bottom plastic.

Chapter 4:

Remove the turn signal switch

Using a screwdriver and a Torx T15 bit, unscrew the 2 screws holding the turn signal switch.

Remove it from its housing, then disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the plastic tab.

Put the turn signal switch back

Take the new turn signal switch and plug it in.
Put it back in its place. Then screw the 2 retaining screws back in.

Put the lower steering column cover back

Replace the bottom plastic by fitting it into the lock. Lower the steering wheel, and snap the top plastic onto the left side.

Reinsert the key so you can turn the steering wheel and put the right side back in place. Put the cover back on the gear shift lever.

Lift the steering wheel back up. Then screw the 3 holding screws back in.
