In time for its 2020 model year release, Toyota has shared the official pricing for the RAV4 TRD Off-Road.

First revealed at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show, the TRD Off-Road trim of the well-loved Toyota RAV4 will officially join the Japanese automaker’s lineup next year.

According to recently published pricing, the entry-level TRD Off-Road starts at $36,300, inclusive of the mandatory $1,120 destination charge. This puts the trim within 4Runner territory and among the most expensive variants of the 2020 RAV4.

In comparison, an entry-level 2019 LE model has a starting price of $26,770, while the premium level Limited has a base price of $36,170 when equipped with a four-cylinder engine and $36,970 with a hybrid powertrain. The bigger Highlander, meanwhile, starts at $32,950, while the 4Runner costs at least $37,140. All of which are inclusive of the $1,120 destination charge.

Spending money on the 2020 RAV4 TRD Off-Road won’t be for naught, though, as Toyota gave the model a retuned, trim-specific suspension that allows drivers to travel on dirt roads at high speeds without the risk of breaking any of the vehicle’s expensive components. It also comes with 18-inch alloys wrapped by all-terrain tires as standard equipment.

The 2020 RAV4 TRD Off-Road is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission. In low-traction conditions, the vehicle’s torque vectoring allows it to move between the left and right wheels with ease. However, it does not come with a transfer case, skid plates, and other hardcore off-roading features.

Toyota is expected to roll out the model to dealerships in the coming weeks.
