Toyota Releases Pricing for Heritage Edition Land Cruiser

Not all vehicles make it to their 60th anniversary, which is why it becomes a cause of celebration for automakers when one of their models does so. And Toyota’s Land Cruiser is no exception as the brand previously announced it will be releasing a Land Cruiser Heritage Edition as an homage to the iconic off-road SUV.

And, now that the Land Cruiser’s 60th anniversary is just around the corner, Toyota revealed the price for the special model: $86,710 for the base price and a total of $89,040 with the delivery charge.

But considering the features and upgrades on the Heritage Edition, is the $2,330 price difference worth it?

The upcoming Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition boasts of 18-inch BBS Wheels and two paint choices in Midnight Black Metallic and Blizzard Pearl. It also keeps its off-road capability by having the running boards and side moldings removed, while the addition of darkened chrome surrounds for the fog lights and headlights, black grille accents, and Vintage Land Cruiser badges complete the exterior styling.

The interior details, on the other hand, include black leather upholstery with contrasting bronze stitching as well as additional cargo space, thanks to the removal of the third-row seats. But under the hood, the Land Cruiser will not have changes to the drivetrain and will keep its 5.7-liter V8 engine for 381 horsepower. It will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel-drive system.

Toyota will still be offering one trim and one package to upgrade the Land Cruiser Heritage Edition with a rear-seat entertainment system. The entertainment system, however, sets customers back an additional $2,220.

The brand is reportedly planning to build only 1,200 Heritage Edition units, although this, and whatever upgrades have been revealed so far, may not be enough to justify the almost $90,000 price tag. But for loyal fans of the Land Cruiser, a Heritage Edition may be worth all the costs.
